TEST METHOD NO. 9
REAR AXLE OSCILLATION
1. TEST APPARATUS:
Linear measurement equipment.
2. TEST PROCEDURE:
a. Raise the crane, keeping the crane horizontal, to sufficient
height to allow the rear axle to oscillate from stop to stop.
b. Measure at the center of the tire tread.
c. Pivot the rear axle fully clockwise. Measure and record the
vertical distance that the tire traveled from horizontal.
d. Pivot the rear axle fully counterclockwise. Measure and
record the vertical distance that the tire traveled from
horizontal.
