4.4.2 Preproduction inspection and lot acceptance inspection. Preproduction inspection
and lot acceptance inspection shall consist of the examinations and tests shown in Table III
performed on the samples selected under 4.3.2.1 and 4.3.2.2. When specified in the contract
or purchase order, certified inspection data covering the results of preproduction inspections
shall be forwarded to the procuring activity. See 6.2.2.
4.4.3 Failures
4.4.3.1 Preproduction samples. The failure of a preproduction sample to comply with any
provision of this specification shall be cause for denial of production approval. The dis-
position of the sample and proposed corrective action shall be in accordance with the contract
or purchase order. (See 6.2)
4.4.3.2 Lot acceptance sample. The failure of a sample to comply with any provision of this
specification shall be cause for rejection of the lot represented by the sample. The disposi-
tion of the sample and proposed corrective action shall be in accordance with the contract or
purchase order. (See 6.2)
