4.3.2 Inspection procedure.
4.3.2.1 For nondestructive tests. The assembled dispersers shall be tested
in accordance with 4.4.4,1.  The containers shall be tested in accordance with
4.4.4.2.  The guns shall be tested in accordance with 4.4.4.4.
4.3.2.2 For destructive tests.  Twenty-two containers shall be tested in
accordance with 4.4.4.3.  If one container fails the test, the remaining six-
teen containers shall be tested in accordance with 4.4.4.3.
4.3.3 Acceptance/rejection criteria.  The preproduction sample shall comply
with 4.3.2.1 and 4.3.2.2 to be acceptable except for the containers.  If two or
more containers fail the test the entire sample of containers shall be
destroyed.  The contractor shall obtain written approval from the contracting
activity prior to proceeding with regular production.
4.4 Quality conformance inspection.
4.4.1 Lotting.  A lot of dispersers shall be identified and controlled in
accordance with MIL-STD-1168, produced by one manufacturer from the same mate-
rials and under essentially the same manufacturing conditions.  However, for
rupture test, a lot shall consist of 200 consecutively manufactured containers
of one interfix number.
4.4.2 Sampling.
4.4.2.1 For examination and nondestructive tests. Sampling shall be con-
ducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105.
4.1.2.2 For destructive test.
One container shall be taken at random from
each lot.
4.4.3 Inspection procedures.
4.4.3.1 For examination and nondestructive test. The disperser and the
level A packaging shall be examined in accordance with the classification of
defects and with MIL-STD-105.  Each assembled disperser shall be tested in
accordance with 4.4.4.1.  Each gun shall be tested in accordance with 4.4.4.4.
All defective items shall be removed from the lot.
4.4.3.2 For destructive test.  Each sample container shall be tested in
accordance with 4.4.4.3.  A failure of any one sample to meet the specified
pressure shall be cause to reject the entire lot from which the sample was
drawn.
4.4.3.3 Critical defects.  Each cylinder and each container in the lot shall
be inspected for its critical characteristics listed in the classification of
defects. Any cylinder or container failing to meet the specified test require-
ments shall cause the lot to be rejected.
