exterior parts and shall be fastened to members which will stand stresses in the amount and direction of pull
specified for the provisions without weld failure, permanent deformation, cracking, loosening, or breaking
of the provision or its connecting structural components. Slinging provisions may also be used as tiedown
provisions when such provisions meet the requirement specified in 3.19.1. All slinging/tiedown provisions

distributor or provisions. The parachute suspension provisions shall be labeled "ATTACH DROP
PARACHUTE HERE" in inch letters.
3.19.7 Extraction parachute provision. Extraction provisions shall be provided on the distributor for
attachment of the parachute extraction system. Except as specified herein, the extraction provision shall
conform to MIL-STD-814 and shall withstand stresses in the amount and direction of pull specified
without weld failure or permanent deformation of the distributor or the provision. In lieu of the limit load
specified in MIL-STD-814, the limit load of the provision shall be 56,580 pounds. The design ultimate
strength of welded sections shall be four times the limit load. The extraction provision shall be labeled
"ATTACH EXTRACTION PARACHUTE HERE".
3.19.8 Airdrop. The distributor shall meet the requirements of MIL-STD-660 for air drop.
3.20 Identification plates and marking. Each distributor shall be furnished with an identification plate
