3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Fabrication. - The elbow assembly shall be manufactured in
accordance with Drawing F11733401 and drawings pertaining thereto,
3.2 Interchangeability. - The elbow assembly shall be capable of
insertion into and removal from Periscope: M32E1, 35E1 and M36E1 (gages
are specified in lieu of periscopes in 4.6.10).
3.3 General specifications. - The contractor shall be responsible
for adherence to, and compliance with the following requirements of MIL-
F-13926,
a.
Order of precedence
b.
Dimensions and tolerance
c.
Inorganic protective surface finishes
d.
Part identification and marking
e.
Workmanship
3.4 Environmental.
3.4.1 Storage temperature. - The elbow assembly shall show no
evidence of cement separation, glass breakage or other physical failure,
and shall meet all the requirements of this specification at standard
ambient temperature (plus 60 to plus 90F) after having been exposed
and thermally stabilized at ambient- temperatures of minus 80 and plus
160F.
3.4.2 Operating temperatures. - The elbow assembly shall meet the
applicable requirements of 3.5 while exposed and thermally stabilized at
temperatures of minus 40F and plus 150F.
