Dry the sample for 30 minutes between 90 and 100C, cool and weigh.
d.
Calculate the percent binder as follows:
Α
Β

Περχεντ βινδερ
Χ
where:
A = Weight of crucible plus sample, (g)
B = Weight of crucible plus residue, (g)
C = Weight of sample, (g)
e.
Extract residue remaining on the crucible with 5 portions, 10 mL each, of the hot acetone
(approximately 50C) on a vacuum filtrator. Stir each extraction for 30 seconds with vacuum
off.

Περχεντ ΡĆ Ξ
Χ
where:
D = Weight of crucible plus residue before acetone extraction, (g)
E = Weight of crucible plus residue after acetone extraction, (g)
C = Weight of sample, (g)
