4.4. 3.3.1 Ambient temperature.
(See 3.5.1).
4.4.3.3.1.1 First three lots. Beginning with the first lot
produced and continuing until three (3) consecutive lots have
complied with the acceptance criteria specified, eighty (80) flare
assemblies shall be selected from each lot for this test. The lot
shall be rejected if:
a.
A critical defect occurs.
b. A total of three (3) or more flares burn less than 45
secs. or fail to ignite.
c.
Any pull pin force is less than 1.00 pound.
d. A total of four (4) or more flares exhibit any of the
remaining major defects listed in Table IV.
4.4.3.3.1.2 Reduced sampling after three lots. After three (3)
consecutive lots have compiled with the criteria of 4.4.3.3.1.1,
thirty-two (32) flare assemblies shall be selected from each lot for
test. The lot shall be rejected if:
a.
A critical defect occurs.
b. A total of two (2) or more flares burn less than 45 secs.
or fail to ignite.
c.
Any pull pin force is less than 1.00 pound.
d. A total of three (3) or more flares exhibit any of the
remaining major defects listed in Table IV.

Cold temperature.
4.4.3.3.2.1
First three lots. Beginning with the first lot
produced and continuing until three (3) consecutive lots have
complied with the acceptance criteria specified, eighty (80) flare
assemblies shall be slected from each lot for this test. The lot
shall be rejected if:
b. A total of three (3) or more flares burn less than 45
secs. or fail to ignite.
c. A total of five (5) or more flares exhibit any of the
remaining major defects listed in Table IV.
