MILITARY SPECIFICATION
FILTER UNIT, FLUID, PRESSURE MXU-408/M, ABSOLUTE
5 MICRON. HYDRAULIC
This specification is approved for use within
the Department of the Air Force and IS available
for use by all Departments and Agencies of the
Department of Defense

SCOPE
This specification covers a hydraulic fluid filter unit with a replaceable element for retaining

particles larger than 5 microns and 96.6 percent by weight of 5 micron and smaller particles.
1.2 Classification. Type I: 3000 psi operating pressure, 30 gpm flow. Type II: 5000 psi operating
pressure. 35 gpm flow.
1.2.1 Reference Number. Specification reference number for items described in this specification will
be formulated as shown in paragraph 6.4.1.
