3. REQUIREMENTS (see 6.6)
3.1 Material. - Materials shall be in accordance with
applicable drawings and specifications.
3.2 Parts and assemblies. - The parts and assemblies shall
comply with all requirements specified on Drawing 929831.4,
associated drawings, and with all requirements specified in
applicable specifications and standards.
3.3 Embrittlement of springs. - Striker springs, release
pin springs, release pin rings and pressure springs shall not
break when extended to the minimum point of permanent distortion.
*3.4 Non-functioning of head assembly. - The head assembly
prior to loading with silicone grease, shall not function when
a 3.0 pound minimum load is applied to the release pin ring
parallel to the axis of' the release pin, and when a 8.0 pound
minimum load is applied to any one prong, or equally distributed
upon all three prongs parallel to the axis of the head assembly.
*3.5 Functioning of head assembly. - The head assembly,
prior to loading with silicone grease, shall function when a
12.0 pound maximum load is applied to the release pin ring
parallel to the axis of the release pin, and when a 20.0
pound maximum load is applied to any one prong or equally
distributed upon all three prongs parallel to the axis of the
head assembly.
