(see 6.1), the packaging examination and testing shall be in accordance
with MIL-P-14232;
4.5.5 Certification. Unless otherwise specified, the contractor
shall be responsible for testing necessary to accomplish certification.
For each inspection lot of feeders, the contractor shall provide the
Government representative with certified statements of compliance with
applicable drawings and specifications of the following materials and
processes specified on Drawing F7791085.
4.5.6 Inspection equipment.
4.5.6.1 Unless otherwise specified in the procurement documents
(see 6.1), responsibilities for acquisition maintenance and disposition

4.6. Test methods.
4.6.1 Functioning test. Feeders shall be tested for functioning
requirements using slave M61 or M61Al guns or contractor designed Govern-

Two belts of 100 rounds each of linked ammunition shall be used for
testing each feeder. The feeders shall be accelerated up to a feeding

is declutched at approximately the 40th and 80th round of each belt.
The feeder shall not be declutched at fire-out (without ammunition in
feeder). The feeder solenoid shall be energized to declutch the feeder
at the instant power to the drive iS removed, and shall be deenergized
after the gun comes to a complete stop. The feeder solenoid shall not
be energized for more than 15 seconds at any one time. After feeding
each belt of ammunition the recorded data shall be checked to assure
proper operation of the rounds counter switch, the last round indicator
Switch$ and the declutchtng mechanism. Instrumentation shall be of the
contractor's design and shall be such that gun speed curve, timing marks,
primer impulse, and feeder declutching actuation is taken and recorded
concurrently for use in computing required data for each feeder.
