MIL-F-4 8673 (AR)
to the
required pressure following temperature
stabilization. )  The test item shall be operated for four
time periods each of 20 minutes duration.  The first three
time periods of operation shall be followed by a 15 minute
period with the test item de-energized. The test item
shall be checked for satisfactory operation during each
operating time period and the results recorded.  Thermal
sensor readings of the test item temperature shall be
recorded every 10 minutes of test item operation.
Standard Ambient Conditions
Step k.
Adjust the chamber test conditions to standard ambient
conditions.  After the test item temperature has
stabilized, an operational and performance check of the
test item shall be made and the results of the test on the
applicable data sheet.
4.8.1.3 Humidity.  The FCC-FTS shall be subjected to the
applicable tests required by MIL-STD-81O as modified by MIL-T-28800.
The test procedure is listed below- and in Table IX and Figure 6.
-
4.8.1.3.1 Test facility.
a.  Humidity chamber.  The humidity tests shall be performed in
a chamber capable of generating and controlling relative humidity in
excess of 95% RH by steam or evaporation of tap water having pH
0
value between 6.0 and 7.2 measure at 23 C.  The chamber shall also
contain provisions for limiting air velocity throughout the exposure
are to 150 feet per minute and provisions made to prevent dripping
and collecting water-condensate onto the equipment fomn overhead.
The chamber shall have been designed and constructed with provisions
for, 1) venting to atmosphere to preclude vapor pressure buildup and
2) sufficient internal volume so that the FCC-FTS under test will
not interfere with the generation and control of the test conditions.
b.  Humidity sensor.  The relative humidity within the test
chamber shall be verified by use of one or more of the following
type indicators:
(1) Dew Point indicator (Dry bulb temperature and water
content) .
