4.3.3 Rejection. The first article quantity shall be
rejected upon failure of any assembly or component in the sample
to comply with any visual or dimensional characteristic or upon
failure to comply with the criteria for any test. The Government
reserves the right to terminate its inspection whenever a
component or assembly fails to comply with any visual or
dimensional characteristic or components or assemblies fail to
comply with the criteria for any test.
4.4 Quality conformance inspection.
4.4.1 Inspection lot formation. The term "inspection lot" is
defined as a homogeneous collection of units of product from which
a representative sample is drawn or which is inspected 100 percent
to determine conformance with applicable requirements. Units of
product selected for inspection shall represent only the
inspection lot from which drawn and shall not be constructed to
represent any prior or subsequent quantities presented for
inspection. The inspection lot shall comply with the provisions
for submission of product as specified in MIL-STD-105. All
material submitted for inspection in accordance with this
specification shall comply with the homogeneity criteria specified
herein, regardless of the type of inspection procedure which is
being applied to determine conformance with requirements. A lot
shall consist of:
Parts produced by one manufacturer, in one unchanged
process, in accordance with the same drawing and drawing revision,
and same specification and specification revision.
4.4.2 Examination. Unless otherwise specified in the
classification of defects and tests tables, sampling plans for the
individual major and minor defects listed shall be in accordance
with M1L-STD-105, Inspection Level II. Prior to the performance
of the inspections and tests listed on the tables, the parts and
assemblies comprising the blank firing attachment shall have been
inspected in accordance with the applicable Quality Assurance
Provisions.
