MIL-F-81966( AS)
failure shall be defined as anything which causes- malfunctioning of the power supply.
..
No adjustments will be permitted during Run-In.
Temperature
Room ambient
Humidity
Room ambient
Vibration
Any selected frequency within the
range of 20 to 30 cps (excluding
resonant points) and a minimum
amplitude of + 3gts
The Power Supply shall be vibrated (without vibration isolators) for a period of 10
minutes prior to the beginning of the 24 hour operation.  The equipment shall be
operated during this vibration period for the purpose of detecting flaws and
imperfect workmanship.  Operation within the specified limits of satisfactory
performance is required during the vibration period. The direction of vibration
should be vertical to the normal mounting plane for 5 minutes and lateral to the
plane for 5 minutes.  Where it is not feasible to vibrate the equipment in two
directions the vertical direction shall be used.  During the 24 hour period of
operation following the 10 minute vibration period, the power supply shall be cycled
periodically through its various phases of operation. Should a failure occur, it
should be repaired and the test started over, except that the 10 minute vibration
period need not be repeated when it is certain the failure was not a result of the
vibration.  Should repetitive failures occur, corrective action shall be taken to
eliminate this defect-from future equipment.  A record shall be kept of all failures.
4.4.1.3.1
Power Supply Cycling -
(1)
The power supply may be constantly left in a -300 volt position or
the output voltage selection cycled at the manufacturer's option
unless otherwise specified by the procuring activity.
(2)
A cycle shall be 10 +
1 minutes consisting of:
A 3 + .2 minute period during which the pickle circuit is
a.
energized.  Apply the output voltage of the power supply to a
load of 120 ohms + 5 percent in series with 1.0 uf + 10 percent
all in parallel with 10 K ohms + 5 percent.
b.
Immediately after the 3 minute load of (a) the output of the
power supply shall be subjected to a short circuit of 2 + 1 ohms
for a duration of 1 to 5 seconds.
During the remaining time of the 10 minute cycle the power
c.
supply shall be energized and producing high voltage but the
pickle circuit shall be de-energized.
4.4.2 Sampling Tests - Equipments selected for sampling tests shall first have
passed the individual tests.  Equipments shall be selected for sampling tests by the
