REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Item description. The test set shall test the aircraft launcher
(LAU-7A) for the AIM-9D/G/H/L/M weapon systems at the organizational
maintenance level. The test set shall be capable of determining that all
required voltages and signals are available to the launcher system, and shall
monitor critical functions continuously for stray electrical energy. The
test set shall perform multiple functional tests simultaneously and indicate
failure of a tested function by lighting a FUNCTION SELECT NO-GO indicator.
If a NO-GO indication occurs, the operator must be able to troubleshoot the
individual interface circuits by selecting the appropriate line with a LINE
SELECT switch and read voltages on a digital voltmeter (DVM). Stray
electrical energy on critical functions shall be monitored continuously with
results indicated on separate GO/NO-GO indicators. Stray electrical energy
NO-GO results are not required to be line selectable. Internal self test
circuitry continuously monitors test set condition and shall indicate an
unserviceable test set by causing the SELECTED FUNCTION NO-GO indicator to
continuously flash ON and OFF.
3.1.1 General. The test set shall be comprised of a front panel with
permanently attached chassis and a card cage assembly attached to the chassis.
The card cage shall contain 12 printed circuit cards. The chassis and card
cage shall be hinged together at one side to allow the card cage to be opened,
away from the chassis, to expose the chassis mounted and front panel mounted
omponents. The chassis and card cage shall be retained together, at the side
opposite the hinge, by spring loaded detent fasteners.
