5.3.1 Level A. The kit shall be packed in a box conforming with PPP-B-601,
overseas type, style I. The box shall be reinforced with flat steel strapping
in accordance with the box specification. Components and blocking shall be in
accordance with Packaging Data Sheets (Appendix).
5.3.2 Commercial. A complete kit shall be packed in a container in
accordance with MIL-STD-1188.
5.4 Marking.
Marking for shipment and storage shall be in accordance with
5.4.1 Military.
MIL-STD-129.
Marking for commercial packaging shall be in accordance
5.4.2 Commercial.

6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The kit is used to locate and mount the components of the
retrofit kit (TA13222E0025) to the M60 series tank. The retrofit kit, in turn
provides "hard points" for the installation of the mine cleaning roller system
on an unmodified M60 series tank.
6.2 Ordering data.
The basic acquisition document Should specify the
following:
Title, number and date of this specification.
a.
Time frame required for submission of preproduction model and
b.
number of kits required (see 3.2).
c.
Time frame required for submission of initial production model
and number of kits required (see 3.2).
d.
Government and contractor testing responsibilities,
e.
Data requirements.
f.
Degree of packing required [see 5.3).
6.3 Initial production inspection. The quantity of initial production kits
required for tests and examinations shall be specified by the contract or the
contracting officer.
6.4 Recycled material. It is encouraged that recycled material be used when
practical as long as it meets the requirements of the specification (see 3.3).
