MILITARY SPECIFICATION
LOADING PLATES, STEEL, AND ALUMINUM
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies
of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers three types of loading plates, three
styles of aluminum plates and two styles of steel plates rated at a 15,000
pound load capacity. These loading plates will be used for bridging gaps and
compensating for height differentials between docks and trucks, docks and
railcars, and railcars and railcars.
1.2 Classification. Loading plates shall be of the following types and
styles as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Rectangular
Style A Aluminum
Style B Steel

pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should
