MIL-L-48407B(MU)
4.6.4.2.3 Vibration "B". - To determine compliance with 3.3.4.2.3,
perform this test in accordance with Method 514.2 of M1L-STD-810, Procedure
X, Curve AX, figure 514.2-7 for four cycles. Delete resonance dwell
time. The laser trainer shall be stored in its Carrying Case, F11743778
for this test.
4.6.4.2.4 Shock. - To determine compliance with 3.3.4.2.4, this test
shall be performed as specified MIL-STD-81O, Procedure I, Figure 516.2-1,
Shock parameters (a) and (c), Procedure II (limited to a 30 inch drop)
and Procedure V. The laser trainer will be stored in its carrying case
for Procedure II.
4.6.4.2.5 Altitude. - This test shall be performed as specified
in MIL-STD-81O, Method 500.1. Procedure I to determine compliance with
3.3.4.2.5.
4.6.4.2.6 Sunshine. - This test shall be performed as specified
in MIL-STD-81O, Method 505.1, Procedure I to determine compliance with
3.3.4.2.6.
4.6.4.2.7 Rain. - This test shall be performed as specified in
MIL-STD-81O, Method 506.1, Procedure I to determine compliance with 3.3.4.2.7.
Also there shall be no water present in the interior of the trainer.
4.6.4.2.8 Humidity. - This test shall be performed as specified in
MIL-S-810, Method 507.1, Procedure I, Figure 507.1-3 to determine compliance
with 3.3.4.2.8.
4.6.4.2.9 Salt fog. - This test shall be performed as specified in
MIL-STD-81O, Method 509.1, Procedure I to determine compliance with 3.3.4.2.9.
4.6.4.2.10 Dust. - This test shall be performed as specified in
MIL-STD-81O, Method 510.1, Procedure I to determine compliance with 3.3.4.2.10.
The temperature change during the test shall not exceed 3F per minute.
4.6.4.2.11 Fungus.- This test shall be performed as specified in
MIL-STD-81O, Method 508.1, Procedure I to determine compliance with 3.3.4.2.11.
4.6.5 Performance. - The test specified in 4.6.5.1 through 4.6.5.9
inclusive shall be performed to determine compliance with 3.3.5 with the
laser trainer connected as follows - A push button (depress to close type)
shall be provided to simulate the machine gun trigger which will supply
24 6 VDC to laser trainer input terminal when it is depressed. The
negative side of the power supply shall be connected to the trainer mount-
ing ring. A He-Ne power meter capable of measuring 2 milliwatts and hav-
ing an external connection for a oscilloscope for which to measure the
waveform of the laser pulse as seen by the detector, shall be provided.
The oscilloscope shall be connected such that when the push button is de-
pressed, supplying 24 6 VDC to the laser trainer, the oscilloscope will
trigger and the time between the applied voltage and the resulting laser
pulse can be measured and the pulse duration can also be measured by the
waveform shown on the screen of the oscilloscope.
NOTE: If the laser tube fails to lase or has insufficient power output
allow a maximum of 30 minutes warm up time before performing 4.6.5.1 through
4.6.5.9.
