|  * 3.8.1 Life raft. The marking of the bottom of the life raft shall be

1/ The manufacturer shall include the applicable information.
2/ The national stock number for the LRU-16/P life raft is
4220-01-003-6763LS. The national stock number for the LRU-17/P life
raft is 4220-NC-410689PLS.
3/ The procuring activity (see 6.2) will furnish the serial number to the
manufacture.
4/ As an option to the requirement for silk screen, the information may
be stenciled using white washproof ink that conforms to type IV of MIL-I-6903.
* 3.8.2
Sea anchor. The sea anchor shall be marked for identification in
accordance with MIL-A-5339.
3.9
Workmanship. Workmanship shall be in accordance with high grade
manufacturing practice covering this class of work. Because of the
emergency use of the life raft, the details of workmanship shall be the
,
highest quality to insure proper functioning of the life raft at all times.
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the

contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection
requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the con-
tract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for
the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless
disapproved by The Government reserves the right to perform
any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections
are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed
