Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict

between the text of this specification and the references cited herein,
the text of this specification shall take precedence.
First article. When specified, a loader shall be

subjected to first article inspection specified herein (see 4.4 and
6.3).
Material. The material used shall be as specified

herein. However, material not specified herein shall be of a quality
suitable for the purpose intended and to meet the requirements of this
specification. The material shall be free of all defects and imperfections
that might affect the serviceability of the finished product.
3.2.1
Metals.
Dissimilar metals. Dissimilar metals (nonpermissible

galvanic couples) as defined in MIL-STD-889, Type II shall not be used
in contact with each other. Where contact is unavoidable, dissimilar
metals shall be insulated as specified in MIL-STD-889, section 5.
Nonmetallic materials.
Tire material. Tires shall not exceed eight calendar

quarters in age from date of cure of the rubber to date of acceptance of
the loader by the Government.
