3.6.1.2 Temperature limits. - The motors shall be so designed as not to exceed the values of maximum per-
missible temperature in table V. The methods Of temperature measurements specified in table V
shall apply.
J These values shall be reduced by 10" C. in the case of open motors.
Note. - With but few exceptions, the values applicable to windings in table V are determined by the following
"hottest spot" allowances, based on the "hot spot" temperatures in Specification MIL-E-917 and appli-
cable to the various types of motor construction and methods of temperature measure:
