6.5 Substitutability. The cross-reference information below is presented for the convenience of users. Microcircuits covered
by this specification will functionally replace the listed generic-industry type. Generic-industry microcircuit types may not have
equivalent operational performance characteristics across military temperature ranges, post irradiation performance or
reliability factors equivalent to MIL-M-38510 device types and may have slight physical variations in relation to case size. The
presence of this information shall not be deemed as permitting substitution of generic-industry types for MIL-M-38510 types or
as a waiver of any of the provisions of MIL-M-38510.

6.6 Handling. MOS devices must be handled with certain precautions to avoid damage due to accumulation of static charge.
Input protective devices have been designed in the chip to minimize the effect of this static build up. However, the following
handling practices are recommended:
a. Devices should be handled on benches with conductive and grounded surface.
b. Ground test equipment and tools.
c. Do not handle devices by the leads.
d. Avoid use of plastic, rubber, or silk in MOS areas.
e. Maintain relative humidity above 50 percent, if practical.
