4.6.2.1.2 Concurrent repair parts. Concurrent repair parts shall be
tested by disassembling two mounts, previously tested in 4.5.2.3.1.1, as
necessary and then reassembling them using the concurrent repair parts.
No hand refinement of parts will be allowed, and the mounts shall operate
and function properly. This test may be performed independently of the
mount interchangeability test specified in 4.5.2.3.1.1 and at more fre-
quent intervals using accepted mounts taken from current production.
4.6.2.2 Interplant.
4.6.2.2.1 Mounts. Mounts to be subjected to the interplant inter-
changeability test shall be given a preliminary hand functioning to assure
proper operation before parts are interchanged. Parts shall then be dis-
assembled from the mounts, and identified as to manufacturer. Mounts shal
be interchanged in a manner similar to the detailed plan specified in
4.6.2.1.1 except that parts shall be divided into six groups and that when
disassembling, every other mount used shall be one produced by a different
manufacturer. After interchange of parts, the mounts shall be examined
for function of traverse and elevation micro adjustment mechanism for the
requirements specified in 3.2.5.3 and 3.2.5.4. Before mounts are returned
to the contractors, the original parts shall be reassembled to their
respective mounts.
4.6.2.2.2 Repair parts. The concurrently manufactured repair parts
submitted for tests shall be assembled in the mounts previously tested in
4.6.2.2.1 without hand fitting or altering any part. Mounts shall be
assembled using different combinations of parts to the extent deemed
necessary to assure that parts are interchangeable.
