mechanism sleeve from being manually unscrewed from the lower elevating
screw. The elevating screw stop assembly shall move throughout the fill
range of travel, and when released shall return to its original position
by spring action.
3.2.7.2 Micro elevating mechanism. The micro elevating mechanism
shall have a minimum adjustment of 200 mils elevation and 200 mils depres-
sion. The elevating handwheel shall turn through the full range of adjust-
ment (8 complete revolutions) and shall produce a perceptible click for
each mil indication on the elevating handwheel.
3.2.7.3 Micro traversing mechanism. The mirco traversing mechanism
shall have a minimum adjustent of 50 mils to the right and 50 mils to the
left. The traversing handwheel shall turn through the full range of adjust-
ment (b complete revolutions) and shall produce a perceptible click for
each mil indication on the traversing handwheel.
3.2.7.4 Traversing slide lock lever assembly. The traversing slide
lock lever shall be capable of being manually rotated throughout its full
range of travel without binding.
3.2.7.5 Upper elevating screw stop assembly. The upper elevating
screw stop assembly shall prevent the lower elevating screw from being
manually unscrewed from the upper elevating screw.
-3.2.8 Traverse and elevating mechanism adapter assembly. The tra-
verse and elevating mechanism adapter assembly shall be retained to the
traverse and elevating mechanism by the pin and shall rotate about the
pin throughout the fill range of travel without binding. The pin shall
be retained by the retaining rings. The stud shall be capable of being
depressed flush with or below the surface of the adapter and shall return
to its original position by spring action.
3.2.9 Traversing bar assembly. The scale on the traversing bar shall
be clear and legible and shall be accurately divided into the mil divisions
specified on the applicable drawing. The sleeve latch shall hold the
traversing bar in proper position when the mount is in firing position.
The traversing bar assembly shall be adjusted in accordance with Drawing
F7790723 to require manual forcing into the locked position in order to
increase the rigidity of the mount when in firing position.
3.2.10 Interchangeability. Unless othewise specified on the drawing,
all parts shall be interchangeable. Testing shall be as specified in
4.5.3.2.
