3.
REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Materials.- Materials shall be in accordance with the drawings,
material specifications, and general specifications forming a part of this
specification.
3.2 Fabrication.- The mount shall be manufactured in accordance
with the applicable drawing specified in Section 2 and drawings pertaining
thereto.
3.3 General specification.- The contractor shall be responsible for
adherence to, and compliance with, the following requirements of Specifi-
cation MIL-F-13926:
(a)
of precedence
Order
(b)
Dimensions and tolerances
(c)
Inorganic protective surface finishes
(d)
part identification and marking
(e)
Workmanship
3.4 Environmental.
3.4.1 Operating temperatures.- The mount shall be operable while
exposed to and thermally stabilized at ambient temperatures of minus 40"
Fahrenheit (F) and plus 150F.
3.4.2 Vibration.- The mount shall meet the requirements of 3.5.1 and
3.5.2 after being vibrated for five minutes plus or minus 15 seconds at an
amplitude of 1/16 inch (1/8 inch total excursion) at a frequency of 30
cycles per second.
3.5 Operability.
3.5.1 Mounting plate.- With the lever lock out of detent, the running
torque required to rotate the sight mounting plate shall not be less than
5 inch pounds nor more that 20 inch pounds with a fully depressed lever
when checked at an ambient temperature of plus 60 to 90F.
