| 5.2.1.6 Engines. Engines and engine accessories shall be preserved
and packaged in accordance with MIL-E-10062, level A.
5.2.1.7 Clutches.
5.2.1.7.1 DiSC type. The inspection plate shall be removed, and
--. with the clutch engaged, all accessible interior metal components
of the clutch shall be sprayed with a thin film of primer conforming
to TT-P-664. Coating of nonmetallic surfaces shall be kept to a minimum.
Clutch-control mechanisms not enclosed shall be coated with type P-1
preservative. After being sprayed, the spring-loaded-type clutches
shall be secured in a partially disengaged position to eliminate contact
between the disc facings and pressure plates. Snap~r-center and
toggle-in-type clutes shall be completely disengaged. The clutch
shall not be operated after application of the preservative.

5.2.1.7.2 Jaw type. Cluch jaws, shifter yokes, and machined surfaces
of shafts shall be coated with type P-6 preservative. Clutch control
machanisms enclosed with housings shall be fogged with type P-10,
grade 2 preservative l Clutch control mechanisms not enclosed within
housings shall be coated with type P-l preservative. The clutch shall
not be operated after application of the preservative.
5.2.1.7.3 Band and shoe type. Clutch drum facings and control
mechanisms enclosed in the housing shall be coated with primer conforming
to TT-P-664. Clutch control mechanisms not enclosed shall be coated
with type P-l preservation. The clutch shall not be operated after appli-
cation of the preservative.
