of the explosive performance samples to comply with the requirements
of 3.5 shall result in rejection of the lot of explosive material
represented by the sample. Results of these tests shall be supplied
in accordance with 6.7.
4.4.3.4 Adhesive application. At the start of each days
production and after each four (4) hours during production, and at
the end of each shift, a verification of proper adhesive application
shall be made following procedures generated by the contractor (See
3.7). The procedure shall assure that the proper amount of adhesive
has been and is being dispensed and properly applied. The method
shall assure that adhesive is not migrating to the S&A assembly.
Additionally, all other process controls, delineated in 3.7, shall
be verified at least once a shift. Evidence of inadequate adhesive
application or migration of adhesive to the S&A during any of the
verification checks shall result in rejection of that quantity of
mines assembled since the last acceptable check. If the adhesive
application does not comply with all requirements at the start of
the production, the Contractor shall not proceed with production
until corrective action has been taken and all requirements met.
The lot acceptance test sample
4.4.3.5 Lot acceptance testing.
shall be subjected to:
a. Transportation Vibration (TV) in accordance with the
requirement of MIL-STD-331, Test No. 119, Procedure 2 (without
borerider clip installed.
b. Temperature conditioning (after TV and without borerider
clip installed) for a minimum of 4 hrs. in each temperature group:
Hot (+145F + 5F), Ambient (+70F 10F), and Cold
(-40F - 5F).
c. The preconditioned test units shall have the borerider
pin and retaining clip installed and functioned per 4.4.2.9,
prevailing ambient.
4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required
to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described
in the "Paragraph Reference/Inspection-Method" column in the tables
starting with 4.4.2.1. The contractor shall submit inspection
equipment designs to the Government for approval in accordance with
the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078, and 6.3
herein.
4.4.5 Launch simulator. An airgun shall be used as the
launcher for lot acceptance testing. Design to be submitted in
accordance with 4.4.4. The airgun shall have the following features:
