MIL-N-81207A(AS)
Power - The transmitter power shall not be less
3.5.1.16.1
than 600 watts at a pulse repetition frequency of 1650 pulses per
second.
Pulse Droop - Pulse droop shall not exceed 3
3.5.1.16.2
dB.
Data Link - When triggered by external
3.5.1.17
triggering pulses of 5.5.1.17.2, the equipment shall be capable of
transmitting pulse groups of 3 TACAN pulses spaced 18 or more
microseconds apart.  These groups may be assembled into words or
frames consisting of up to seven groups spaced 205 to 452 used
apart.  These frames shall be evenly spaced and the frame rate
must be consistent with the transmitter duty cycle and A/A range
and bearing requirements; i.e., for a pulse rate of 1200 pps or
less, the minimum peak power is 750 watts and for a pulse rate of
1650 pps, the minimum peak power is 600 watts.  Pulse droop
measured from the first pulse in a frame to the last pulse in the
same frame, shall not exceed 3 dB.  Incoming detected TACAN pulses
shall be available for processing by a data link adapter.
External Transmitter Enable - The transmitter
3.5.1.17.1
circuits shall accept a digital signal, which in the logical "O"
state shall interrupt internal triggers to the transmitter and
permit external triggering of the transmitter. This signal shall
bracket external transmitter triggers.
External Transmitter Trigger - The transmitter
3.5.1.17.2
section shall accept external triggers of duration between 1 and 5
microseconds, and shall generate properly shaped TACAN pulses and
transmit them with a delay of 16 0.5 microseconds.  Minimum
spacing of the triggers shall be 18 microseconds.
Receiver Video Output - A receiver video output
3.5.1.17.3
shall be provided having positive linear video pulses of 6.5 1.5
volts amplitude when measured with no modulation.
Audio Modulation Frequency Selectivity - The
3.5.1.18
equipment shall minimize the susceptibility of the bearing
measurement to the effects of extraneous modulation such as that
introduced by rotors, propellers or signal strength fluctuations.
As a minimum, signal strength fluctuations of 50% at a rate of
twice per second shall not degrade the bearing accuracy.
3.5.2
Receiver-Transmitter, TACAN RT-1127/ARN-84(V)
The Receiver-Transmitter shall meet the-following requirements,
33.
