3.5.2.4.4.7
be an input from the Digital Display Indicator. When the BIT CMD is
received, the Keyer Control shall output the discrete BIT (logical "1")
per Paragraph 3.5.2.4.3.2.
Controls - The Keyer Control shall contain the
3.5.2.5
designated controls and display windows with positional placements and
labeling depicted in Figure 8.
Labeling for rotary switches shall be transillumi-
nated for low-ambient viewing. Knobs shall be compatible gray per
FED-STD-595.  All lighting elements shall be front replaceable.
The numeric, flight data access control, and miscel-
laneous control PBI's (24) shall be of black background; remaining PBI's
(12) shall be of gray background.  Labeling of all alphanumerics, flight
data access control, and program control PBI's (32) shall be white.
Illumination of all alphanumeric, flight data access control, and program
control PBI's shall be white per MIL-P-7788 derived from 5 VAC excitation.
controlled by an external 26 VAC dimming control. Legends of the four
miscellaneous control PBI's shall be translucent for green or amber
illumination as specified below.
STEER - The STEER control shall be a single-deck
3.5.2.5.1
four position switch. The switch control shall enable assigned bits
into the SC on the Outgoing Word as defined in Paragraph 3.5.2.4.3.4.
3.5.2.5.2
DATA - The DATA control shall be a single-deck six
position rotary switch.  The switch control shall be used in conjunction
with the associated Digital Display window and keyboard to select,
monitor, insert, and change navigation data list parameters. Position
definitions with control functions shall enable assigned bits into the
NC on the Outgoing Word as defined in Paragraph 3.5.2.4.3.4.
Keyboard - The keyboard control shall consist of an
3.5.2.5.3
array of momentary action and four pushbutton indicator switches (PBI)
arranged and labeled as depicted in Figure 8. PBI actuation of the
keyboard shall enable insertion of flight data into the navigation
system and select parameters for display on the Digital Display Indicator
(Paragraph 3.5.3).  PBI control functions shall be in four groupings as
defined.
*3.5.2.5.3.1
Flight Data Access Control - Flight data shall be
immediately accessible in preemption over sequential access lists.
Access control shall consist of the 10 PSI's listed. PBI actuation
