Function - The SDC receives input analog signals
3.5.8.1
from external equipments and converts these signals into digital data
for processing by the NC. It provides conversion of digital data from
the NC to synchro and DC outputs. It provides level shifting of pulse
trains and discretes for NC interface with external equipments. It
provides lighting and logic power to external equipments. It provides
conversion of input signals from the OMEGA Receiver Converter OR-90/ARN-99(V)1
from parallel to serial digital data. It provides resolver to synchro
buffer to interface with the CN-1231/ASN-84 Gyroscope Assembly azimuth
output to the MX-6985/ASN-50 Compass Adapter Compensator.

Contents - The SDC shall accommodate system input/

output functions wherever necessary to reduce or eliminate the addition
of functions to the NC. Spare card capacity of 4 card slots shall be
provided. The power supply shall be sufficient to supply the SDC when
all card slots are filled and all other system growth requirements are
fulfilled assuming average SDC board power requirements and existing
voltages. Connector provision for additional input/output capability
shall be made. Connectors shall be functionally separated to the greatest
extent possible to facilitate aircraft installation.
