20.2.1
Military Documents - When requesting specifications, standards,
drawings, and publications, refer to both title and number. Copies of
this specification and applicable specifications required by contractors
in connection with specific procurement functions may be obtained upon
application to the Commanding Officer, Publications and Forms Center,
Code 105 Tabor Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19120.
Commercial Specification - When requesting the ARINC Characteristic
20.2.2
No. 561-8 refer to both title and number. Copies of this characteristic
may be obtained for a fee upon request to Aeronautical Radio, Incorporated,
Documents Section, 2551 Riva Road, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.

REQUIREMENTS
The provisions of paragraph 3.0 apply except as modified
herein.
Input Electrical Power - No power shall be required from the

System Definition - The set shall consist of those items of

paragraph 10.2. The system shall operate in conjunction with the
associated P-3B aircraft equipment listed in paragraph 6.8, except the
ASN-84 components, and shall operate in conjunction with the ARINC 561
INS, reference paragraph 40.1. The functional block diagram for this
system configuration is shown in Figure 39. The analog output signal
distribution diagram for this system configuration is shown in Figure 40.
Hardware - The CV-3502 Signal Data Converter (SDC) shall inter-

face with the ARINC 561 INS instead of the ASN-84. The resolver to
synchro buffer for platform azimuth shall not be required. The CV-3502
shall be designed so that conversion to the CV-3289, and vice versa,
shall be possible by changing only these inertial interface printed
circuit cards.
The C-10422 Mode Controller (MC) shall provide ON-OFF power
control for the Navigation Display Set (except ITADS). It shall replace
the C-9856 MC for this application. It shall also apply power to the
OR-90/ARN-99(V)1 and provide an annunciator for "Pre-Select Heading".
