MIL-N-85005A(AS)
Appendix
The data shall be output in eight frames of eight words each,
comprising a complete data cycle of 64 words. (See Figure 41 attached.)
The complete data cycle shall then be recycled continuously without
interruption.  The first five words of each eight-word frame shall be the
five parameters TH, VN, VE, LAT, LON as shown above.  VN, VE data shall
be fresh each frame and coordinated.  TH and LAT/LON shall be fresh data
at least every other frame.  If "no computed data" is indicated for a
velocity or position parameter, the other velocity or position parameter
shall also be coded "no computed data". The remaining three word times
of each frame of eight words shall be used to transmit waypoint data,
beginning with Waypoint 1 LAT/LON and Waypoint 2 LAT in frame 1 and
ending with Waypoint 8 LON and Waypoint 9 LAT/LON in frame 6.  The last
three words of 7 and 8 shall be coded "no computed data".  Waypoint
words shall normally be coded "no computed data" unless (1) the operator
selects MT on the CDU or (2) the operator inserts Waypoint Latitude or
Longitude.  When the operator selects RMT, all eighteen waypoint LAT/LON
words shall be output with valid data, in one 64 word cycle.  The
output shall then return to transmission of no computed data in the
waypoint words.  When the operator inserts a Waypoint Latitude or
Longitude, the INS shall utilize the next available 64 word cycle to
transmit the inserted valid data in the appropriately numbered waypoint
words.  The output data shall then return to transmission of no computed
data.
When the operator selects CDU Test in Standby or Align, the
INS shall output test values as follows:
VALUE
PARAMETER
(Odd bits 19-29)
119.9707
True Heading
(Even bits 16-28)
1092.2 Kts
N/S Velocity
2184.5 Kts
(Odd bits 15-29)
E.W Velocity
(Even bits 12-28)
59.99977N
Latitude
(Odd bits 11-29)
119.99989E
Longitude
During test mode the status/sign matrix of the data words shall indicate
"functional test" (bit 31 = 0, bit 30 = 1) in accordance with ARINC 561.
The test values of latitude and longitude shall also be transmitted in
the word locations of waypoint 1-9 as long as the CDU is in Test.
