MILITARY SPECIFICATION
PUMPS, ROTARY, POWER DRIVEN, MISCELLANEOUS
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope.- This specification covers positive displacement, power
driven, miscellaneous, rotary pumps.
1.2 Classification.- Pumps shall be of the following classes and types:
Class N-2 - Diesel fuel oil service or transfer.
Class N-4 - Purifier pumps and Diesel engine attached fuel oil.
Class O-2 - Lubricating oil service or transfer, and fog oil
transf era
Class O-3 - Lubricating oil, small attached, for auxiliary machinery.
Type I- Cam and plunger.
Type III - Screws without timing gears.
Type IV - Impellers with timing gears.
Type V - Spur, helical or herringbone gears.
Type VI - Spur, helical or herringbone gears with timing gears,
Type VIII - Internal gear,
Type IX - Vane (swinging).
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 The following specifications, standards and drawings, of the issue in
effect on date of invitation for bids, form a part of this specification:
