4.3.4.2 Lot.- A lot shall consist of a group of pumps of the same type and
class having the same characteristics produced under uniform conditions over a
short period of time.

4.3.4.3 Each selected pump shall be subjected to a thorough examination to
ascertain that the material, workmanship and design are in conformance with this
specification.
4.3.4.4 Each selected pump shall be tested in order to determine its ability
to deliver rated capacity of specified liquid at the minimum specified viscosity
against rated discharge pressure and with the suction lift specified for the minimum
viscosity. This test shall be of sufficient duration to indicate to the representative
of the bureau or agency concerned that the specified characteristics have been met.
4.3.4.5 Means shall be provided by the contractor to drive the selected pump
at the speeds necessary for these tests,
