MILITARY SPECIFICATION
POLYURETHANE FOAM, POLYETHER TYPE, RIGID, FOR PACKAGING AND
ENCAPSULATION OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS
This specification is approved for use by the US Army Missile
Command, Department of the Army, and is available for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers the requirements and tests for three types
of two-component polyether type polyurethane foam, rigid, for packaging and
encapsulation of electronic components.
1.2 Classification. The polyether type polyurethane foam will be furnished in
the following types, as characterized by their densities and acquisition document (see
6.2):
2 pounds per cubic foot (lb/ft3)
Type I
-
2 to 3 lb/ft3
Type II
-
4 lb/ft3
Type III
-
