3.-17.4 Re-qualification.  Re-qualification shall be required
for all new vendors, major process or design changes by qualified
vendors or if a vendor ceases production for over 90 days.  The
contracting officer shall determine the need for requalification.
3.18 Data requirements.  The contractor shall generate data in
accordance with the requirements of the data item descriptions cited
in paragraphs 4.4.2.1 through 4.4.2.35, as applicable.
3.19 First article ins pection.  The specification contains
technical provisions for first article inspection.  Requirements for
the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be

as specified in the contract.
3.20 Workmanship.
3.20.1 Workmanship - housing, timing and fuzing.  The Housing,
Timing and Fuzing Projectile shall be free of dirt, grease, chips,
gouges, cracks, flash, fissures, and any other defects which would
make the item unsuitable for its intended use.
3.20.2 Workmanship - parts and assemblies.  Parts and
assemblies shall be tree from chips, dirt, grease, and other foreign
matter that may impair improper functioning.  Cleaning methods used
-
shall not be injurious to any of the parts nor shall the parts be
contaminated.
3.20.3 Workmanship - packaging, packing and marking.  Packaging
and packing materials shall not be water-damaged or contain
excessive moisture.  They shall not be torn, broken or otherwise
damaged, and shall be suitable for the intended use.  All marking
shall be neat, accurate, and sharply defined.
3.20.4 Workmanship allowable rust on components.  No rust shall
be allowed on S&A clip, electronics assembly clip or sensor locating
clips.  NO rust shall be allowed on the faces of the preform;
however, rust is acceptable within 1/4 inch of any edge of the
completed Housing, Timing and Fuzing Assembly.
3.20.5 The `Visual" method for determining the acceptance of
Major 110 of Paragraph 4.4.2.23 shall be that the Housing, Timing
and Fuzing shall be examined for presence of green color on the Lead
cup.
