shall be expanded between the handle and the stem passage to eliminate
the possibility of the piston striking against the lower plate or check
valve plate, if provided.
A short length of ceil spring shall be installed
around the stem to take up the shock at the end of the return stroke.

3.4.6.3

opposite the handle and shall consist of a cup and at least two washers,
one on each side of the cup.
The cup shall be of synthetic rubber or of
any other suitable material.  The cup material shall be self-lubricating
to prevent drying.
The washers shall be of such diameter and configuration
that the cup will permit the passage of air on the return stroke and a
minimum of leakage on the down stroke.

The hose shall be of the woven style with an
