6.3
Definitions.
6.3.1 Angular displacement. Angular displacement is determined by means
of measurement of a prescribed mark on the body and the nose of the projectile
(parallel to the longitudinal axis). Mismatch of the scribed line by over 0.010
inch after the test is defined as angular displacement.
6.3.2 Complete rotating band separation. Detachment of all of the band having
band seat knurling imprint.
6.3.3 Partial rotating band separation. Detachment of part of the band having
band seat knurling imprint.
6.3.4 Penetration. The entire projectile or major portion of the projectile passes
completely through the armor plate.
6.4 Supersession data. This specification includes the requirements of purchase
description AS-2703A dated 12 August 1976.
