MILITARY SPECIFICATION

RADIOGRAPHIC INSPECTION, SOUNDNESS REQUIREMENTS FOR FUSION

WELDS IN ALUMINUM AND MAGNESIUM MISSILE COMPONENTS

This specification is approved for use by the U.S. Army Missile Command,

Department of the Army, and is available for use by all Departments and

Agencies of the Department of Defense.

1. SCOPE

1.1 Scope. This specification covers the methods for defining soundness and

freedom from defects of manual or automatic shielded inert gas arc welds in aluminum

and magnesium as determined by radiographic inspection.

2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

2.1 Government documents.

Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data

which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commander,
