5.3.2 Commercial. A complete kit shall be packed in a container in accordance with MIL-STD-1188.
5.4 Technical publications. The kit installation manual shall be placed in the box containing the kit,
and the box shall be marked to indicate that the manual is included. Technical publications shall be placed
individually in a polyethylene envelope in accordance with MIL-B-117, 4 mil thick and heat sealed.
5.5 Marking.
5.5.1 Military. Marking for shipment and storage shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
5.5.2 Commercial. Marking for commercial packaging shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1188.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The kit contains components that are mounted and welded to provide "hard points"
on an unmodified M60 series tank in order that the tank may be equipped with the Mine Clearing Roller
System (NSN 2590-01-063-0253).
6.2 Ordering data. The basic acquisition document should specify the following:
(a) Title, number and date of this specification.
(b) Time frame required for submission of preproduction model, and number of kits required
(see 3.2).
(c) Time frame required for submission of initial production model and number of kits required
(see 3.2).
(d) Government and contractor testing responsibilities.
(e) Data requirements.
(f) Degree of packing required (see 5.3).
6.3 Initial production inspection. The quantity of initial production kits required for tests and
examinations shall be specified by the contract or the contracting officer.
6.4 Recycled material. It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical as long as it
meets the requirements of the specification (see 3.4).
