MIL-R-62197A(AT)
b. Connections and instrumentation shall be attached to the assembly to permit
operation and testing as specified in c through f.
c. Conduct resonance search at reduced vibration amplitude, at room temperature,
and with input power applied.
d. Place the assembly in a temperature chamber and conduct the resonance dwell
and sinusoidal cycling tests as specified, with input power applied 50 percent of
the time.
e. During vibration, when input power is applied, monitor for intermittent conditions
not to exceed 10 ms.
f. After vibration, return the assembly to room ambient temperature and subject the
assembly to the performance tests of 4.7.3 thru 4.7.8.
4.7.9.2.1 Control test. This test shall be the same as 4.7.9.2, except the temperature shall
be 70 + 10F and the time schedule shall be a total of 80 minutes per axis, including 2 minutes
dwell time at each resonance.
4.7.9.3 Shock.
4.7.9.3.1 Basic design. To determine conformance to 3.4.7.3, mount the assembly in any
axis shown in figure 2 and subject it to the shock test specified in MIL-STD-810, method 516,
procedure I, for a total of eighteen half-sine wave shock pulses (six in each axis). Peak
amplitude shall be 40 + 4g with a time duration of 18 + 3 ms measured at the 10 percent
amplitude points. During three of the drops in each axis, apply the input power and monitor for
intermittent conditions not to exceed 10 ms. At the conclusion of this test, subject the assembly
to the performance tests of 4.7.3 thru 4.7.8.
4.7.9.3.1.1 Control test. This test shall be the same as 4.7.9.3.1 except the shock level
shall be limited to 30 + 3g, 135 + 13.5g and 285 + 28.5g.
4.7.9.3.2 High-intensity test. To determine conformance to 3.4.7.3, with the assembly
mounted as specified in 4.7.9.3.1, subject it to the shock test specified in MIL-STD-810, method
516, procedure IV for a total of 18 half-sine wave shock pulses (six in each axis). Peak
amplitude shall be 180 + 18g with a time duration of 1.7 + 0.2 ms in the longitudinal and
transverse axes and 380 + 38g with a time duration of 1.0 + 0.1 ms in the vertical axis measured
at the 10 percent amplitude points. During three of the drops in each axis, apply the input power
and monitor for intermittent conditions not to exceed 10 ms. At the conclusion of this test,
subject the assembly to the performance tests of 5.7.3 thru 4.7.8.
