3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Conformance to drawings. Rocket Motor Mark 23 Mods 2 and 3
shall meet all the reqirements of this specification and the require-
ments specified on the drawings listed on DL 1255AS1OO or DL 1255AS200.
3.1.1 Materials. Unless otherwise specified, all materials and
parts used i n the loaded rocket motor shall conform strictly to the
detailed requirements specified on the drawings, specifications, and
other documents listed on DL 1255AS1OO and DL 1255AS200 as applicable.
3.1.2 Finish. All components shall be free from burrs and contami-
nation which could result in malfunction of the equipment or be a
safety hazard in handling.
3.1.3 Dimensions. Unless otherwise specified In the contract, all
dimensions are to apply after all manufacturing processes, surface
treatments, and testing have been completed.
3.2 First article. When specified (see 6.2), the contractor shall
furnish sample units for first article inspection and approval (see
4.4 and 6.4).
3.3 Components.
3.3.1 Motor. The rocket motor shall consist of all components
shown on the drawings listed on DL 1255AS1OO or DL 1255AS200.
3.3.2 Igniters. Igniters used on this rocket motor shall conform
to all requirements of MIL-I-85365 and DL 1255AS114.
3.3.3 Chambers. The rocket motor chambers shall conform to all .
requirements of drawings listed on DL 1255AS1OO or DL 1255AS200,
3.3.4 Propellant grain. Size and configuration of the solid pro-
pellant grain shall be in accordance with 1255AS102.
