6.2.2 Contract data requirements.  When this specification is used
in a procurement which incorporates a DD Form 1423 and invoices the
provisions of 7-104.9(n) of the Defense Acquisition Regulations, the
data requirements identified below will be developed as specified by
an approved Data Item Description (DID) (DD Form 1664) and delivered
in accordance with the approved Contract Data Requirements List
(DD Form 1423) incorporated into the contract, When the provisions
of DAR-7-104.9(n) are not invoked, the data specified below will
be delivered by the contractor in accordance with the contract require-
ments.  Deliverable data required by this specification is cited in the
following paragraph:

6.3 Definitions.
6.3.1 Thrust-time curve for rocket motor, Mark 23 Mods 2 and 3.
(See figure 2.)
6.3.1.1 Thrust duration.  Thrust duration shall be measured on the
time axis from the point at which the tangent to the initial rise of
the curve crosses the zero thrust line to the point at which the
tangent to the final decline of the curve crosses the zero thrust line,
6.3.1.2 Total impulse.  The area under the thrust-line curve within
the limits specified in 6.3.1.1 shall be taken as the total impulse.
6.3.1.3 Average thrust.  The ratio of the total impulse to the
thrust duration shall be taken as the average thrust.
6.3.1.4 Ignition interval.  The elapsed time from the closing of
-
the firing circuit to the point where the tangent to the initial rise
of the thrust curve intersects the zero thrust line shall be taken as
the ignition interval.
