Cable Grip, Rescue
(Copies of specifications, standards and drawings required by suppliers
in connection with specific procurement functions should be obtained from
the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer. )
REQUIREMENTS

3.1
Preproduction - The cable grip furnished under this speci-
fication shall be a product which has been tested and passed the prepro-
duction inspection specified herein.
3.2
Materials - All material shall be as specified on MS938.
Design - The cable grip shall be designed in accordance

with MS90382.

Performance -
3.4.1
Proof load - The cable grip shall exhibit no evidence of
slippage, separation of cable and grip, failure of the grip, nor defoma-
tion of any part when tested as specified in Section 4.
Marking - The following information shall be marked on the

cable grip in a durable and legible manner:

MS part No. 90382
Contract No.
Manufacturer's name or trade mark.
3.6
Workmanship - The cable grip shall be clean, and free from
excess oil and grease, and other foreign matter and constructed in such a
manner as to withstand normal strains, jars, jolts, vibrations and other
such conditions incident to shipping, storage, installation and service and
shall conform to the quality and grade of product established by this speci-
fication. The occurrence of defects shall not exceed the acceptance
criteria established herein.
