MILITARY SPECIFICATION
SLOTTED METAL FRAMING, ANGLES AND PANELS
This specification is approved for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.

SCOPE
1.1
Scope. This specification covers slotted metal angle, metal shelving panels, nuts and bolts for assembly.

Classification. Material covered by this specification is designated by the following units and types as
specified (see 6.2).
Unit A - Slotted Metal Angle, (dimensions in inches).
Type 1

Steel, No. 14 gage, Minimum dimensions of 1 1/2 x 1 1/2.
Type 2

Steel, No. 14 gage, Minimum dimensions of 1 1/2 x 2 1/4.
Type 3

Steel, No. 12 gage, Minimum dimensions of 1 1/2 x 2 1/4.
Type 4

Steel, No. 12 gage, Minimum dimensions of 1 1/2 x 3.
Type 5

Aluminum Alloy, No. 13 gage, Minimum dimensions of 1 1/2 x 2 1/4.
Unit B - Preformed Metal Shelving Panels.
