3.5.2 Vibration. The assembly shall be capable of operating as specified
h e r e i n after exposure under the conditions of 3.1.3 to the vibration profile
o f figure 3. Duration of exposure shall be not less than 80 minutes in each
of three mutually perpendicular axes. (See 4.6.3.2)
3 . 5 . 3 O p e r a t i n g t e m p e r a t u r e .  T h e assembly shall be capable of operating
a s specified herein over the operating temperature range of -25F to
+125F. (See 4.6.3.3, 4.6.3.4 and 4.6.3.5)
3 . 5 . 4 S t o r a g e t e m p e r a t u r e .  T h e assembly shall be capable of operating as
s p e c i f i e d herein after exposure to storage temperatures ranging from -65F
t o 1 6 00F .  ( S e e 4 . 6 . 3 . 3 , 4 . 6 . 3 . 4 a n d 4 . 6 . 3 . 5 )
3 . 5 . 5 H u m i d i t y .  T h e assembly shall operate as specified herein at up to
100 percent relative humdity. (See 4.6.3.6)
3 . 5 . 6 A l t i t u d e .  T h e assembly shall operate as specified herein under the
f o l l o w i n g conditions:
a.
d u r i n g exposure to an atmospheric pressure equivalent to 10000
f e e t above sea level..
b.
a f t e r exposure to an atmospheric pressure equivalent to 40000
f e e t above sea level for not less than 1 hour.  ( S e e 4.6.3.7)
3.5.7 Dust.  The assembly shall operate as specified herein after .
exposure to moving dust for not less than 12 hours at velocities up to 1750
feet per minute.  ( S e e 4 . 6 . 3 . 8 )
3.5.8 Salt fog.  The assembly shall operate as specified herein after
e x p o s u r e to a 5 percent s o d i u m chloride atomized spray for not less than 48
hours. (See 4.6.3.9)
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4 . 1 R e s p o n s i b i l i t i t y f o r i n s p e c t i o n .  U n l e s s otherwise specified in the
contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection
r e q u i r e m e n t s a s s p e c i f i e d h e r e i n . E x c e p t a s o t h e r w i s e s p e c i f i e d i n t h e c o n-
t r a c t , the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the
p e r f o r m a n c e of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless
d i s a p p r o v e d by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform
any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections
a r e deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services confom to pre-
s c r i b e d  requirements.
