4 . 4 . 1 S a m p l e .  T h e first article sample shall be three assemblies
s e l e c t e d at random by the Government representative from the first fifteen
p r o d u c t i o n assemblies.
4.4.2  Inspection.
T h e sample shall be subjected to all the inspections
specified in table II.
4 . 4 . 3  F a i l u r e .  F a i l u r e of any assembly to meet any requirement shall be
c a u s e f o r r e f u s a l t o g r a n t f i r s t a r t i c l e a p p r o v a l .  The Government reserves
the right to terminate first article inspection upon any failure of any
a s s e m b l y to comply with any stated requirement.
4 . 4 . 4  R e s p o n s i b i l i t y .  T h e contractor, whether or not responsible, shall
i n s p e c t the sample for conformance to all contractual requirements and shall
s u b m i t a record of this inspection with the sample and certificates of
c o n f o r m a n c e for materials.  T h e Government reserves the right to witness
i n s p e c t i o n s performed by the contractor.

4 . 5 . 1  P r o c u r e m e n t conditions.  T h e following inspection plans shall apply
w h e r e the assembly is procured for use as a:

from the next higher assembly
B and C
b . Component assembly of the next
h i g h e r assembly
4.5.2 Inspection plan A.
4 . 5 . 2 . 1 G e n e r a l s a m p l e a n d t e s t s .  O n e assembly, as a control sample,
s h a l l be selected at random by the Government representative from each 100
a s s e m b l i e s produced and ,shall be subjected to all the tests in table IV.
4 . 5 . 2 . 2 Environmental sample and tests.  T h r e e assemblies, as a control
s a m p l e , shall be selected at random by the Government representative from each
5 0 assemblies produced or from each months production, whichever occurs
first. All the tests in table V shall be applied separately to each assembly
i n the sample.
4 . 5 . 2 . 3  A c c e p t a n c e .  W h e r e any one assembly of either sample fails to
meet any specified requirement the lot shall be rejected.  Rejected lots
s h a l l be subject to the provisions of MIL-STD-105.
