MIL-S-63302 (AR)
Prior to functioning of the explosive(s) , the
e.
integrity of the detonator(s) circuits shall be
verified (See 4.5.14).
Final arming shall be obtained by remotely
f.
subjecting the micropiston actuator to the energy
from a one hundred (100) microfarad capacitor
charged to 1.6 volts max.
4.5.18 In-line explosive functioning. Dwg(s) 9292700/
9328756.
4.5.18.1 MDF and main charge lead explosive train
functioning. - Dwg 9328756.  The S&A assemblies previously armed
and fitted with witness plates and confining ring witness blocks,
see 4.5.17.2, shall be functioned by subjecting the parallel M100
and PA 506 delay detonators to the energy from a 100 microfarad
capacitor charged to 1.6 volts max. Observation shall be made for
compliance with requirements of 3.6.1 and 3.6.2.  The 20 ms to 50
ms delay time of the delay detonator PA 506 shall be recorded.
Material for the 1/2 in X3/4 in X1/8 in. thick aluminum witness
plate shall be as specified in 4.5.1.
4.5.18.2 Main charge lead explosive train functioning. -
Dwg. 9292700.  The S&A Assemblies previously armed and fitted
with steel confining ring witness blocks shall be functioned by
subjecting the M100 detonator to the energy from a 100 microfarad
capacitor charged to 1.6 volts max.  Observation shall be made
for compliance with 3.6.2.  A holding fixture or weight shall be
used to contain movement of witness block during functioning.
Material for the 1 3/16 in I.D. X  1 1/2 in long  X 3 in O.D.
confining ring shall be cold drawn or cold rolled steel, per
ASTM-A-108, C1018 or C1020, hardness Rockwell B70-95.
4.5.19 Verification of safe condition of S&A assemblies
prior to shipment - Dwg's. 9292700/9328756.  Inspection shall be
made for the requirements of 3.7 using depth and/or flush pin
gages with visual examination through inspection ports.  S&A
assemblies will be 100% visually inspected to verify safe
position of slider, maximum distance of slider from end of S&A
and/or probed for presence and proper position of slider release
pin and shear pin.  Prior to assembling lock plate, verification
shall be made for presence and safe position of centrifugal locks
and the presence and proper orientation of slider two lock tabs.
Any S&A failing to conform with the applicable requirement shall
be classed defective and removed from the lot.
(Non-destructive
test.)
