4.5.6 Flexibility test of MDF, PBXN-5, lead sheathed. This test shall be
performed in accordance with MIL-C-50697. Observation shall be made for
compliance with the requirements of the drawing. Sample subjected to this
test shall not be returned to the lot but shall be used in 4.5.8.
4.5.7 Neutron radiographic examination.
4.5.7.1 MDF, PBXN-5 lead sheathed. The MDF cord shall be subjected to
neutron radiographic examination. Observation shall be made for the
requirements of the drawing. (Non-destructive test).
4.5.8 Detonation velocity of MDF, PBXN-5 lead sheathed. Following
examination of 4.5.7.1 the sample from 4.5.6 shall be subjected to a
detonation velocity test in accordance with the procedure specified on the
applicable drawing. Observation shall be made for compliance with the
requirements of the drawing. (Destructive test).
4.5.9 Load test of upper housing assembly. The assembly shall be placed
in an approved fixture and the static load applied as specified on the
applicable drawing. Observation shall be made for compliance with the
requirements of the drawing. Assemblies subjected to this test shall not be
returned to the lot. (Non-destructive test).
4.5.10 Continuity resistance test of flexible cable assembly after
assembly to S&A's. Following assembly to appropriate S&A and the drilling of
a hole for the subsequent insertion of an eyelet, the flexible cable assembly
shall be subjected to the resistance test specified on the applicable S&A
drawing. Readout meter shall be a milliohmmeter or equivalent with a test
current of one milliamps or less. Observation shall be made for compliance
with the requirements of the applicable S&A drawing. After resistance
measurements, the electro explosive device(s) shall have their input leads
positively shorted. (Non-destructive test).
4.5.11 Environmental and safety tests of S&A assembly.
4.5.11.1 Jolt. After verification of the safe condition of 4.5.15, the
test sample of S&A assemblies shall be assembled to fixtures and shall be
tested in accordance with MIL-STD-331, Test No. 101, Procedure 11.
Observation shall be made for compliance with the requirement of 3.4.1.
(Destructive test).
4.5.11.2 Jumble. After verification of the safe condition of 4.5.15, the
test sample of S&A assemblies shall be tested in accordance with MIL-STD-331,
Test No. 102. Observation shall be made for compliance with the requirements
specified in 3.4.2. (Destructive test).
4.5.11.3 Transportation vibration. After verification of the safe
condition of 4.5.15, the S&A assemblies shall be assembled to fixtures and
subjected to Test No. 119, Procedure 2 of MIL-STD-331. Observation shall be
made for compliance with the applicable requirements specified in 3.4.3.
