4.6.13,4
Handle lock load. A proof load of 200-pound tension shall be applied
to the grip of the handle perpendicular to the surface of the lid for a minimum
period of 10 seconds. The handle and lock shall not show any permanent deforma-
tion or damage.
4.6,13.5
Dropline connecting plunger device. A load of 200 pounds shall be
applied to the lowest point of the plunger in the extended position in both fore
and aft directions and from both sides of the survival kit container. After the
application of the 200-pound load in each of the specified positions, the survival
kit container shrill be subjected to and pass one test each as specified in 4.6.3.1
and 4.6.3.2. The actuation of the plunger shall be determined and shall be as
specified in 3.7,12.5.
4.6.13.6
Aft compartment. The survival kit container skall be placed in a
fixture in a manner so that the bottom of the aft compartment will be unsupported,
The aft compartment of the survival kit container including the compressible
spacer shall be subjected to a static vertical distributed (5-inch by 15-inch
area) load of 270 pounds proof, 400 pounds ultimate for a minimum period of
2 seconds.
4.6.14
Reliability. Five survival kit containers that have been designated
units 1 through
shell be subjected to the reliability tests as specified herein
to demonstrate the reliability specified in 3.7.15. Except for the new sensing
cables specified in 4.0.14.1.1, no parts of the survival kit containers shall be
replaced as preventive maintenance during the reliability tests.
