factory performance, continuously or intermittently for a period of at least
2500 hours without the necessity for readjustment of any controls that are
inaccessible to the operator during normal use.
3.3.2.2 Operating Life - The equipment shall have a total operating life of
10,000 hours with reasonable servicing and replacement of parts. Parts requir-
ing scheduled replacement shall be specified by the contractor.
3.3.2.3 Reliability in Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) - The system,
including any Built-in-Test provisions, shall have 1250 hours of mean time
between failures (MTBF) when tested and accepted as outlined under the
requirements of 4.4.3. The MTBF of the components shall be: Displacement
Gyroscope 3000 hours, Electronic Control Amplifier 2500 hours, Controller 30,000
hours and Electronic Compass Compensator 30,000 hours.
